Worldwide Aurora Gallery

The information on this page is obtained through time-lapse video. The northern sky is imaged over several hours at 30-second intervals. The resulting video sequence contains 400-500 individual images. The sequence is then replayed and reviewed for evidence of any aurora activity. When an event is observed, the time on each frame is noted, giving the starting time and duration of the event.
